Supported by a network of independent sales agents across North America, SSM operates two production facilities within the Calgary area. To support its efforts in growth and expansion, SSM is looking to add an HSE Advisor to the team.

**Essential Functions**

As an HSE Advisor, you will be accountable to:

- Maintain and administer safety policies to sustain our culture of health and safety
- Deliver safety orientation training consistent with the needs of each role
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to ensure standardization and alignment with business strategies and legislative requirements
- Manage workplace injury and incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective/preventative actions
- Coordinate Workers Compensation (WCB) claims
- Monitor safety incidents and metrics and report on safety trends and issues
- Schedule and prepare the Company for COR audits
- Manage and lead the Safety Committee
- Stay current with both the legislation and latest trends in safety and consistently implement these practices in the workplace

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Diploma or certificate program in occupational health and safety or a related discipline
- 5 years of related and progressive experience in a manufacturing environment
- COR audit experience
- Experience managing WCB claims
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Valid Standard First Aid certificate
