Term Full-time, 8:30-4:30, Mon-Fri for 11 weeks

**WAGE RATE**

$32-$38 per hour, 8 hours per day

The Northwest Skills Institute, NW Skills, is a training organization that delivers skills development and employment programs for individuals seeking work in Canada’s key industries. Our focus is promoting individual and business competitiveness through skills development for:

- Individuals seeking amazing careers, we offer technical courses and vocational certificate programs;
- Employers, looking to hire or enhance their workforce, we offer an assortment of short duration, face-to-face training to upskill workers in key business areas, including train-the-trainer programs;
- For non-profit and social benefit organizations, we are a training partner for employment and skills training programs to prepare their clients for job readiness and employment.

**What we are looking for**:
We currently have an upcoming full-time government funded 10-week Print Entry Level Training Program to start this spring and require an instructor.

The students to be recruited for the training will be unemployed individuals to fill high-demand entry-level positions within the printing sector.

You would be teaching 15 students the following:

- Introduction to the Pre-Press
- Orientation to Desktop Publishing (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Composition
- Job Engineering
- Image Capture
- Press, Binding, and Finishing
- Digital Output
- Printing press operation
- Standard features of common print shop equipment
- Standard operating techniques
- Basic paper handling skills
- Colour chemistry/ink
- Electronic integration
- Digital printing
- Reducing waste
- Introduction to Binding
- Print Packaging and Mail

**Who you are**:
Experience Required:

- You have at least 5-7 years of experience in delivering employment or related workshops to adult learners.
- Printing industry background.
- Knowledge of printing presses and able instruct others on safe use of standard equipment.
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite.

Other Desired Skills:

- You have a solid understanding of Adult Learning Theory.
- You are comfortable utilizing diverse lesson plans that have the ability to connect individually with different personalities in an engaging dynamic manner.
- Ability to engage others in the learning process.
- Dynamic personality, positive attitude.
- You have experience and comfort working with ESL learners, persons with disabilities, those with limited work experience, mature workers, and potential at-risk youth.

**Certifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent desirable
- Certificated Career Development Practitioner desirable

**Reports to: Director, Programs**

**Work Environment**:
Typical Classroom/office environment

Site visits to employer sites

**Additional**
- Will require access to transportation for site familiarization visits

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:
