**Who We Are**
**The Role**
Reporting to the Communications Specialist, Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre; the Marketing and Communications Assistant is responsible for supporting the delivery of marketing programs by developing, coordinating and executing internal and external communications, including website management, social media and marketing plans. The Marketing Assistant is responsible for promoting awareness within agency programs and services.
**Communications (30%)**
- Assist Communications Specialist in the execution of marketing plans for programs and services in the local media.
- Promote the programs and services of the agency through various marketing communication tools.
- Assist Communications Specialist in areas of marketing and communication.
- Assist Communications Specialist in administering communications, public relations, graphics, and social media for the agency.
- Ensure the distribution of promotional material to military families through PMFRC / community events.
- Be informed of the Privacy Code Best Practices to ensure the confidentiality of the organization and of customer information is maintained.
**Marketing (70%)**
- Upload quarterly marketing plan programs to the cfmws.ca website calendar.
- Update and maintain Petawawa cfmws.ca website.
- Ensure website’s relevant links to various community programs and services are active and current.
- Create / facilitate PMFRC social media channels and other relevant platforms, as well as monitor post analytics.
- Create dynamic written, graphic, and video social media content.
- Under the guidance of the Communications Specialist, gather quotes for printing, promotional items, and other materials.
**Desired Knowledge, Education and Experience**
- A minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Marketing and Communication, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in marketing, promotion and social media content management.
- Proven skills in website content management and content management systems.
- Expertise in web and print multimedia production tools such as CANVA, Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency on Mac and PC Platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to produce creative promotional material.
- Demonstrated skills in letter writing and social media content.
- Display high level of initiative with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Sensitivity and tact in dealing with people.
- Ability to work well within a team environment

**Special Requirements**
