Community & Housing Support Worker - Full Time, Temporary Contract (8 weeks)

$18.00/hr

**Contract Dates**: Summer 2024

**Position Description**: The Community and Housing Support worker promotes housing stability for marginalized individuals, supporting their health, wellness, and community belonging through recreational and community-building activities.

**Location**:  425 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON

**What You Will Be Doing**:

- Working as part of an inter-disciplinary team to provide direct and indirect support to individuals.
- Supporting individuals with activities of daily living.
- Administering medication, recording daily shift notes.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Reinforcing individuals’ life skills, spirituality, and social and community skills by supporting participation in cultural, spiritual, recreations, leisure, and social activities.
- Arranging and coordinating aspects of recreational and community activities.
- Documentation of events, including program planning, tracking of participants, evaluation of events.
- Developing therapeutic relationships.

**Canada Summer Jobs Eligibility Requirements**:

- Be between the ages of 18-30 at start of employment
- Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Be in possession of a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be available to work for the duration of the contract

**Education/Experience**: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Priority given to those with post-secondary education in the social sciences and/or residential experience.
