The Crump Group Inc. is a family-owned and operated premium pet treat manufacturer. Started in 2006, we have successfully established 3 market leading brands (Caledon Farms, Crumps Naturals AND Dog Delights) distributed throughout Canada and the United States. The Crump Group Inc., a large & rapidly growing pet food manufacturer based in Mississauga Ontario and Nashville North Carolina is seeking a dynamic, results oriented Design Manager. **Job Overview**

As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design process for our company. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and manufacturing, to create visually appealing and functional packaging designs that resonate with our target audience. Your role will involve developing and maintaining brand identity, managing design projects from concept to completion, and ensuring the highest quality standards in all design deliverables.

This role is an opportunity to champion design and push the boundaries with your creative vision.
- Generate clean and consistent, on-brand design work
- Study design briefs and determine requirements
- Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
- Develop full packaging layouts. Work with printers to ensure technical requirements and details are meet for best output.
- Work with website developers to create digital experiences that drive the brand.
- Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software
- Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
- Test graphics across various media
- Amend designs after feedback
- Prepare and present ideas
- Schedule projects and define budget constraints. Work with contract designers to manage projects & work flow.
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
- Video production and editing an asset.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
**Design Strategy**:

- Develop and maintain a cohesive brand identity for the company's products, aligning with our mission, values, and target market.
- Manage & develop all creative requirements for a growing portfolio of three brands.
- Establish and implement design strategies to enhance brand recognition and product differentiation in the market.
- stay updated on industry trends to ensure our designs are innovative, relevant, and visually appealing.

**Design Project Management**:

- Lead and manage all design projects, ensuring timely execution, adherence to budgets, and alignment with project objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand design requirements, goals, and target audience, translating them into impactful design concepts.
- Create project timelines, set priorities, and manage resources effectively to meet deadlines.

**Packaging Design**:

- Develop packaging designs that reflect the brand image, product attributes, and customer preferences.
- Incorporate functional and regulatory requirements into packaging designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the successful implementation of packaging designs.

**Graphic Design and Visual Communication**:

- Create compelling graphic designs for various marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, advertisements, POS, and digital assets.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visually engaging materials for online and offline marketing campaigns.

**Team Leadership and Collaboration**:

- Provide mentorship, guidance, and feedback to the design team[SR1], fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their design needs, aligning with their objectives and ensuring effective communication throughout the design process.
- Coordinate with external vendors, agencies, and freelancers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and maintaining strong working relationships.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, industrial design, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a design manager or in a similar role, preferably in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Proven graphic designing experience in packaging design, UI and Web Design an asset
- Knowledge of printing processes, materials, and production techniques for packaging design.
- A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics (this is a nice to have)
