Superintendent of School Operations

The Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires a continuing, full-time Superintendent of School Operations. The position will commence on August 1, 2023.

The Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre is a newly formed Treasury Board Crown Corporation in Saskatchewan, created to deliver high quality and equitable online learning programs to students across the province. The SDLC head office is located in Kenaston, with an administrative office in Regina, and nine regional campuses located in Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Yorkton, Saskatoon, Nipawin, Prince Albert, Neilburg and La Ronge. The SDLC will deliver online programming to approximately 2100 full time online students and approximately 8000 part-time students attending schools across the province.

This position will be responsible for the Northern region therefore being located in the North would be an asset. Otherwise frequent travel to the North will be required for this position.
- Demonstrate a commitment to building strong relationships within schools and the larger community.
- Have the ability to deal with various challenges while maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Demonstrate the ability to create a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environment.
- Demonstrate a history of student-centred decision making and innovative educational approaches as a school leader.
- Have a minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience in various K - 12 settings.
- Experience in building positive relationships with Indigenous peoples, organizations, and communities.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead assessment and instructional practices to improve achievement for all students.
- Exhibit leadership in staff mental health and wellbeing.
- Demonstrate leadership skills that promote inclusion, engagement, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Have completed a Master of Education degree at a recognized university in a field related to the duties of an educational administrator.
- Meet qualification requirements for membership in the League of Educational Administrators, Directors and Superintendents (LEADS).
