Level 2 Dental Assistant

**Duties**:
- Understands and adheres to Radiographic Quality Assurance Controls, Infection Control, WHMIS and all other applicable laws and regulations to provide a safe environment for patients and staff. Regularly monitors applicable journals and articles recommended updates as appropriate
- Greet the patient
- Should be a team player
- Ensures all clinical and storage areas are clean, neat and free from clutter and prohibited/ unnecessary materials at all times.
- Maintain all sterlization and IPAC record
- Be a JHRDC representative
- Maintain SDS folder and check expiration of all the products
- Dispose the waste as per the guidelines
- Participate and conduct monthly inspection
- Maintain a log of radiographs
- Do monthly and weekly maintainence of all the equipment as per manufacturers direction
- Be able to work under pressure and multitask
- Get the Lab prescription and prepare for the dentist and get the lab case ready for pick up
- Keep the clinical and waiting area clean all the time and disinfect the areas as and when required
- Pouring the impression and disinfection
- Ensures all treatment plans are entered into Dentrix and presented appropriately to each patient.
- Monitors dental supply inventory on a weekly and monthly basis. Suggests effective action plans to maintain supplies costs within budget.
- Maintains patient relations through ongoing dialogue with patients before, during and after treatment. Identifies and responds to dissatisfied patients with the appropriate recovery action. Conducts care calls post treatment to ensure patient comfort, answer questions and resolve any concerns.
- Supports the clinical department by ensuring instruments and equipment are in working condition, sterile, disinfected and ready for use. Ensures that set-up of operatory is complete and ready for patient arrival.
**Qualifications**:
- Completion of a Certified Dental Assisting Level II Diploma Required
- Current registration with HARP
- New grads welcome
- Experience with Dentrix is considered an asset
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
