Fund Development Manager

North Vancouver, Canada Community First Foundation Full time

Join our growing team
Backpack Buddies is a rapidly growing organization that is tackling childhood hunger in BC. We are searching for an experienced and energetic Fund
Development Coordinator to join our team, tackle our annual giving program, and help us give the most vulnerable kids in BC the chance to grow up with enough food to eat.

Reaching 4,000 Kids
1 in 5 children in BC live in poverty and the vast majority of them face food insecurity. School meal programs help but many children still may not eat at all over the weekend. This is the ‘weekend hunger gap.’ Backpack Buddies was launched in 2012 by Joanne Griffiths and Emily-anne King to fill that gap. They had an idea with a few passionate supporters and together they filled backpacks for 20 children with meals for the weekend. 10 years later, Backpack
Buddies is available in 58 BC communities, in 253 schools, and provides weekend meals for over 4,000 children every week.

Working at Backpack Buddies
Backpack Buddies’ head office is located in North Vancouver where both our offices and primary warehouse are located. We also have satellite sites in Victoria, Port Hardy, and Nelson. This position will work primarily out of our
North Vancouver office but with opportunities to be out in the community meeting supporters and hosting events.
Some work from home time is an option if needed.

Backpack Buddies is energetic and fast-paced where the staff “jump in with both feet” to get things done. We enjoy planning and working together while also taking ownership of our own portfolios. As a young and rapidly growing organization, we try to be flexible and adaptable with new challenges we face. We are good at solving problems because we keep our focus on our vision of ensuring childhood food security for every vulnerable child in BC.

Fund Development Manager Position
The Fund Development Coordinator is involved with the Backpack Buddies annual giving portfolio. The position requires someone who enjoys planning programs, events, promotions, and solicitation strategies and then putting those plans into action.
