Penticton’s newest hotel, the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Penticton is looking for a General Manager to shape the future of this pristine property and join a dynamic hospitality group. Overseeing the operations and strategic planning, the Assistant General Manager will lead the way to a fruitful and positive environment, working closely with a talented team.

**The Assistant General Manager **responsibilities include, managing people and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Property Management and Leadership through daily meetings, organization and direct training of associates.
Ensures compliance with the management company and franchise standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, and room rates.
Create a solid, safe and fun environment for all associates promoting a positive workplace culture
Delivers outstanding guest service performance.
Delegates authority and assigns responsibility to all employees; supervises work activities of all employees.
Ensure staff receive proper training for each position, including safety training and standard operating procedures.
Monitors cost controls for each department on a regular basis.
Inspects guests’ rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
Monitor social media channels and maximize digital presence.
Answers patrons’ complaints and resolves problems to maintain Guest Satisfaction.
Ensures employee paperwork, work schedules and payroll are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Audits daily reports and processes monthly reports.
Order supplies and equipment as needed and in accordance with company procedures.
Embrace Marriott Hotels’ initiatives to uphold the brand to the highest standards.
Deliver Marriott Bonvoy loyalty values on every possible occasion.

**Required Skills and Experience**
Previous experience as a Front Office Manager, Operations Manager, Hotel Manager or Assistant General Manager is required. Experience with Marriott Hotels is an asset.

Must have strong leadership skills.
Associate’s degree or higher level of education preferred but not required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essential.
Ability to adapt working schedule and work weekdays, weekends, statutory holidays whenever required.
May be required to travel occasionally.
Self-Starter with ability to work independently and as a team.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Results driven focus and ability to work through to completion in a timely manner.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include, but not limited to
Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.

**Additional Information**: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Grace Hospitality. The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process.
