Navsim Operator

**Position Overview**:
Calian is proactively seeking a NavSim Operator (Mentor) for the Royal Canadian Navy in Halifax, NS. This is a casual position where the resource must be available outside core hours including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.

- Casual**Responsibilities**:

- Mentors are required to program and operate 1 to 4 bridges simultaneously and/or provide command-level mentorship and instruction to support various training and work requirements
- Report Software Issues and Maintenance
- Collaborate with Kongsberg customer support to report and resolve software faults and issues
- Create and/or update NavSim scenarios as requested by the Technical Authority or designated personnel
- Deliver NavSim programming, operation, and maintenance training when requested by the Technical Authority
- Provide command-level mentor training as needed
- Program and operate 1 to 4 bridges simultaneously to support various training programs and work requirements

**Qualifications**:

- MWS/Surface Command Part II qualification or Fleet/Destroyer Navigating Officer qualification
- Minimum of 1 month of experience operating a Kongsberg Simulator Software (KSIM) Navigation Simulator (NavSim) including practical experience in scenario construction and execution
- Commanding Officer of a Warship for a minimum of nine (9) months

**Additional Requirements**:

- Must be able to work on site in Halifax, NS
- You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret Level
