**Team Leader Finance**:
Reporting directly to the Director Finance, the Team Leader, Finance, is responsible for assisting with the management of overall financial operations of the Company. They will work with the Director to provide accurate financial information, including analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and preparing financial reports. The Team Leader will aid the Director in managing the company's accounting functions, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures, preparing financial statements, and reporting to management and externally. The Team Leader will also support the maintenance of accounting systems and implement changes as required by the Director.

**What you’ll be doing**

**Financial Accounting, Reporting, Controls and Audit**
- Perform the lead role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and statutory reporting.
- Prepare, analyze and present financial information for monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
- Generate reports of performance against budgets.
- Provide analysis as required to drive improved decision-making.
- Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting.
- Support new systems or projects and implement them from strategic finance and internal control perspective.
- Authorize cheques and invoices.
- Other related duties and required or assigned
- Support the Director in working with the business in developing the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast.
- Work with the Director on the formulation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Implement and manage internal controls throughout the organization with respect to financial policies, processes, and procedures, including Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR). Work with external and internal auditors.
- Coordinate the year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statements

**People Management and Development**
- Work with the Director in setting the work priorities within the accounting group.
- Effectively lead a team of three accounting professionals to develop, coach/mentor, and manage performance, to ensure the achievement of business, team, and individual objectives, productivity levels, deadlines, and service levels.
- Help build a culture of high performance and sustained profitable growth by promoting and supporting an environment that encourages productivity, collaboration, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism

**Education & Experience**
- University degree in Business/Accounting, with an advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CPA).
- 5 years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting
- Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding financial records.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
- Experience overseeing audits performed by external audit firms.
- Experience in financial analysis and budgeting.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an asset.
