**What you'll be doing...**:
BC Transit’s Operations Division is responsible for the delivery of transit service throughout the Province outside of Metro Vancouver. The Regional Operations department manages the transit services delivered by contracted service providers.

The Manager, Accessible Transit works to further BC Transit’s commitment to provide safe, equitable accessible transit services across our communities and over 27 transit systems in B.C. You are a central advisory role on accessible transit initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. The Manager, Accessible Transit plays a key role in the development of accessible transit policies, programs and initiatives that promote BC Transit’s corporate values and objectives. This position represents BC Transit on national and provincial accessible transit committees and works closely with other agencies to align industry best practices. Reporting to the Director, Regional Operations, the Manager, Accessible Transit takes actions to ensure operational improvements in handyDART service for our customers and provides updates, advice, and recommendations to inform the broader strategy for Paratransit operations and accessible programs. In dealing with operational matters the Manager, Accessible Transit will review reports and oversee data analysis to inform opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service performance and customer experience.

As our Manager, Accessible Transit you will:

- Bring a passion for public transportation, operations and accessibility.
- Demonstrated experience in policy and/or program design; with a preference given to those who have familiarity with accessibility policy.
- Possess a good working knowledge of contracted operations
- Bring an established background in operational leadership where you built relationships and drove performance from individuals at different levels and from different cultures.
- Demonstrated experience directly supervising or managing staff, including coaching and development, and performance management; with a preference given to those who have experience in a Unionized (or similar) environment.
- Relationship building, analytical skills, written and verbal communication.
- Experience in operations and contract management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
