Project Assistant, Experienced in Construction

Metric Contracting Services Corporation (Metric) is engaged in the business of construction; specifically, earth moving, excavation, site servicing and site development.

**Position**: Project Assistant on various GTA projects.

As a Project Assistant with **minimun of 2 years** **experience in construction field**, you will report to the Project Manager. Within your role you will be responsible for performing the following tasks:

- Document control and administration
- Data entry, analysis and report generation
- Maintain administrative procedures
- Act as a coordinator for special projects
- Schedule internal and external meetings
- Participate in and document project, field and or site meetings
- Site office management (ordering supplies, checking the mail, etc.)
- Quality Control
- Read and review blueprints
- Take/ Coordinate progress photos
- Input /Update deficiency logs
- Monitor manpower productivity
- Conduct trade quote reviews - verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates
- Health and Safety
- Participate in safety tours, toolbox meetings, and incident investigations
- Extensive use of Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and Access
- Administrative tasks and other duties as required

**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Completion of post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, CET or related field
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints with knowledge of AutoCAD
- Strong desire to work in a heavy civil construction site office and field environment
- Ability to work under time constraints to meet multiple deadlines
- Strong work ethic with superior organizational and time management skills
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work under supervision, independently or as part of team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Visio, Project, Word, Access)
- Valid driver’s license is required

**Working Conditions**

- Exposure to various levels of noise
- Hazards associated with the trade

**Salary**: (negotiable based on experience).

Must have experience in construction industry.
