**STEAM Coordinator**

EIA is seeking a qualified full-time STEAM Coordinator for their Secondary Division. We are looking for an outstanding, dedicated individual who is passionate about working with children. All while maintaining a strong relationship with parents, community and staff members.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
**The STEAM Coordinator will:

- Provide instructional support and collaborative coaching to teachers as they work to implement the Alberta curriculum through a STEM integrated model.
- Responsible for providing support in the design of STEM units and lessons, providing content knowledge, and sharing of best practices.
- Work with instructional teams to create effective STEM learning experiences for students. This is a full-time teaching position, which will report to the School principal.

Professional Development and Instruction:

- Assess the skill level and work products of teachers in areas related to STEAM instructional approaches
- Work with school leadership to design a comprehensive professional development and support plan based on teacher needs. Plan, design, and lead differentiated PD sessions.
- Provide high-quality coaching and support to teachers using strategies that align to their development needs
- Lead a STEAM Professional Learning Community, focusing on sharing practices, analyzing data while creating a culture of collaboration across the school

Curriculum Support and Development:

- Collaborate with teachers and teams in curriculum development to plan for opportunities for authentic technology integration
- Coordinate the development and execution of grade-level design challenges
- Participate in grade-level meetings to coordinate curricular projects and provide targeted support towards STEAM instructional approaches

Community Engagement and Enrichment:

- Provide engaging, enriching STEAM related enrichment to increase interest, experience, and develop STEAM habits of mind (e.g., innovation, contextualized problem-solving, contributors to society, etc.)
- Promote STEAM awareness and engagement through targeted partnerships and activities (STEAM Exploration Family Nights, School-based Competition) that enhance academic achievement across the curriculum, specifically in literacy and math

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of two years teaching experience with knowledge and experience in curriculum mapping and integration of educational technology.
- Knowledge of various coaching models is a plus.
- Background in STEM education is desired.
- Applicants must possess a valid teaching license issued by Alberta Education
