**Tantalum Mining Corporation **(TANCO) owned by Sinomine (Hong Kong) Rare Metal Resources Co. Ltd. is a mining and manufacturing company located 60 kilometers Northeast of Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. Employees reside in Lac du Bonnet, Pinawa and the surrounding area. With the operation of our Lithium process, we are looking for a **Safety, Health & Enviroment Manage**r to join our team to continue to achieve our mission of transforming rare metal resources today, into products that shape our tomorrow.

**Job Requirements **(Principal Responsibilities)
- Obtain all Environmental Licenses, Approvals and Permits with the assistance of the TANCO Management team and Consultants as required. This includes such Regulatory items as the maintenance of TANCO’s National Pollutant Release Inventory, Environmental Effects Monitoring to demonstrate compliance with the Metal Mining Liquid Effluent Regulation, Notice of Alteration submissions, and New Substances Notification.
- Aid the Workplace Safety and Health Committee to improve TANCO’s safety performance. This includes acting as a resource to the committee and providing direction for specific program initiatives with the help of Corporate SH&E.
- Ensure TANCO safety management systems for regulatory compliance are developed and maintained.
- Control and reduce Worker’s Compensation claims costs through an effective Disability Management Program to generate lower Premium costs.
- Work with Industry Associations to keep abreast of current SH&E Regulations and act as a resource to the various regulatory bodies.
- Learn and maintain competencies in all areas of SH&E compliance (Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations, Environment Canada’s CEPA, Manitoba Conservation approvals requirements, etc.)

**Behavioral**
- Effectively manage multiple SH&E priorities.
- Maintain a close working relationship with all regulatory agencies and the Worker’s Compensation Board of Manitoba.
- Facilitate meetings and group efforts to achieve defined goals.
- Collaborate with management, hourly and administrative personnel to get endorsement for improved SH&E performance.
- Ensure the following:

- safe work environment for all affected employees and PPE requirements are met.
- procedures are safe, current, adequate, maintained and followed.
- incidents and near misses are reported, investigated, and causes addressed.
- Conduct Employee Performance Plan for salaried employees.
- Manage the employee schedule, ensuring adequate coverage is maintained.
- Procure equipment, supplies, and services.
- Develop, maintain, and continually improve QA/QC programs.
- Maintain the Radiation Safety Program to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Prepare SHE department budget and monitor monthly costs through financial variance reports and open service orders.
- Complete month end reports.
- Registered as a Radiation Safety Officer.

**Education/Experience**
- Post-secondary degree in Safety, Health, Environment, or other Science -related field.
- 5-10 years’ experience in an Industrial, Mining or Chemical Industry environment with good working knowledge of Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Management (CEPA, WPSH Regs, ACGIH, NPRI, NSN, SOP,etc.)
- Five years’ experience leading a Safety and Environmental effort in one of the above environments.
- Experience and the ability to be certified in Safety(CRSP), Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Management.

**Salary**: $82,726.00-$138,947.00 per year
