Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mine Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our underground mine. The Mine Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the mine, ensuring safety and health of all workers, adherence to regulatory and company standards, and the achievement of production targets. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of underground mining processes and equipment.

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Lead, mentor and motivate underground mining teams.
- Schedule and assign tasks to workers, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and manpower.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to employees.
- Maintain open lines of communication with all team members, providing clear instructions and feedback.
- Prepare and submit reports on mining operations, safety incidents, and production achievements to senior management.

**Operations Management**:

- Oversee daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, mucking and ground control/support installation.
- Coordinate activities with other departments such as maintenance, mill, mine engineering, and geology to ensure operational continuity.
- Monitor and manage ventilation systems and environmental controls.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents promptly, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions.

**Production and Cost Management**:

- Ensure production targets are met or exceeded while managing operational costs effectively.
- Monitor and analyze production data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.

**Qualifications**:

- Thorough expertise in the methodologies of drilling and blasting.
- Extensive familiarity with mining equipment and their operational capacities.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.

**Computer Competency**:

- Microsoft Office (Excel, teams).
- KloudGin.

**Education/Experience**:

- Grade 12 diploma required.
- Diploma in mining or geology or equivalent.
- Previous experience in underground mining.
