St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a** Part Time, Probationary, Rehabilitation Assistant **for a work assignment in **Joseph M. Demko School **.

More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values. As a precondition of employment, all potential new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (all recommended doses of a vaccine approved by Health Canada and recommended by Alberta Health Services). Exceptions will only be considered upon proof of a medical condition, or other protected ground under the Alberta Human Rights Act.

**Hours of Work**:27.5** **hrs. /week; 5.5 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Part Time Probationary

**Hourly Rate**:$24.59 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement

**Start Date**:Monday, August 28, 2023

**Deadline for Applications**:Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.

**Specific Needs/Requirements for this position**:

- Formal Post-Secondary training is required
- Previous experience modifying academic programming for students with complex learning needs an asset
- Assist student with feeding, toileting and personal care
- Experience using assistive technology an asset
- Experience creating and using visual aides an asset
- Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team an asset
- Experience working with students with various diverse learning and behavioural needs an asset
- Experience working with students with Autism

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Highest level of formal education.
- Courses, seminars, and specialized training related to required skills.
- Experience related to the position.
- Other skills and abilities applicable to the position.
