Job Title: Cemetery Superintendent

As a Superintendent, you will be responsible for all aspects of cemetery care including internments, memorial and monument restoration, grounds maintenance, and customer service. You will do rewarding work while enjoying the outdoors and you'll go home knowing your efforts helped to create a special place that is appreciated by many. Established in 1889, Gananoque Cemetery is a beautiful 54 acre Cemetery property in the heart of the 1000 Islands, proudly serving Gananoque and surrounding area.

What you bring to this position:

- High school diploma or equivelant
- Valid driver's license
- CPIC
- Previous landscaping or cemetery experience, and a demonstrated interest in working outdoors is an asset
- Chainsaw or ssmaill engine certification would be an asset
- Ability to lif 40 lbs
- This position is based on a 40 hour work week schedule and may change as required based on the needs of the Cemetery. Some overtime may be required.
- Computer skills are an asset

Position Responsibilities:

- Maintaing the grounds and roadways
- Preparation for graves for internments
- Light pruning of trees and shrubs
- Leveling, reseeding, and resodding
- Leaf raking, blowing, mulching, and disposing of such
- Resetting and levelling of monuments and memorials
- Painting and maintenance of fences, buildingings etc.
- Safe operation and use of gas powered equipment and tools
- Other maintenance duties as required
- Assistance to families as required, providing care, support, and respect.

Employment:
40 hrs/week - March 15 - November 15 Seasonal

Hours 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and occasional Saturdays as required.

Training provided.

Personal Protective Equipment Provided.

Must have CSA approved work boots.
