**Position purpose**:
Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, plans, coordinates and manages daily operations related to supplier accounts, deposits and journal entries and manage the accounts payable and journal entry training program. Provides second-level customer service for more complex issues and acts as a resource person for tax-related matters.

**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:
Reviews the data used in producing T4A slips for professional fees to ensure that these slips are correct and comply with Canada Revenue Agency regulations. Plans, supervises and performs activities related to preparing the files used in producing T4A slips in order to meet deadlines. Evaluates all requests for changes to the amounts declared on T4A slips.

Supervises the work of financial officers to ensure that the tight deadlines set for supplier accounts are met. Ensures continuity of essential operations in the section and that internal financial control measures remain in place in order to meet established service standards.

In cooperation with the manager and director, draws up an annual production schedule and assists in the strategic and organizational planning of the section’s activities to maximize operational efficiency.

Advises and assists in developing reports to monitor issues for which the incumbent is responsible to ensure that the following, among others, are corrected: the accounts payable module; data used in producing T4A slips; approval validation, anomalies in the chart of accounts. Ensures that these reports are analysed and the issues corrected whenever anomalies are discovered. Guides, counsels, and educates faculties and services in reviewing their work methods in order to reduce errors.

Manages and coordinates all activities related to closing out the month and the deadlines related to fiscal year-end close out procedures to ensure that all financial transactions are correctly recorded in the right period to facilitate the production of financial statements.

**What you will bring**:
College diploma or university degree in business administration or finance, or equivalent experience

Minimum of three years’ experience in a financial management control position

Supervisory experience considered an asset

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

In-depth knowledge of tax rules

Minimum of two years’ experience in an integrated computerized accounting environment

Strong focus on customer service and experience as a resource person for internal customers and external partners (e.g., faculties and services, suppliers, auditors, agencies, ministries)

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Good organizational and multitasking skills and ability to meet deadlines

Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written)
