**SUMMARY**:
The General Accounting Associate is responsible for assisting the Accounting department with various administrative tasks including reconciliation of accounts, administering month ends, and posting payments received by manufactures.

**ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Administer dealership month ends.
- Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable transactions
- Ensuring all receivables from manufacturers and other organizations are tracked and kept on record.
- Reconcile various account balances.
- Post warranty payments received from manufacturers.
- Other office administration duties as assigned by management.
- Post licensing logs
- Post AR payments received by Chq & CAP AR Vendor accounts
- Post EFTs & Intercompany daily entries
- Post F&I aftersales
- Execute daily bank reconciliations
- Post daily fundings from DealerTrack
- Daily/monthly schedules clean up
- Manage Factory rebates
- Confirm and reconcile weekly Gas log is prepared by receptionists / no slips missing and post monthly entries
- Credit cards reconcile - mid month
- Assist with posting of deals (depending on volume) and help deal posting clerk at month ends
- Reconcile and make F&I warranty remittance cheques (FCPP, Optiom Plus, Auto Guard, etc.)
- Post all commission and bonuses
- Floorplan reconciliation
- Retail Sales Tax (RST) reconciliation
- This position will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED**:

- Solid accounting mindset in accounting basics and open to learn.
- Sensitive in number matching and reconciliation.
- Ability to process mass volume of transactions efficiently.
- Highly self-motivated individual, ability to work effectively under stress and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and communication skills.
- Well-organized and detail oriented.
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems and tools as well as CDK and 180 experience will be preferred.
- Dealership experience will be preferred but not limited to.
