**About us**

The Neighbourhood Group of Companies that operates The Wooly Pub (Guelph), Borealis Grille & Bar (Guelph & Kitchener), Miijidaa Café + Bistro (Guelph) and Park Eatery (Guelph) are looking for line cooks to work at one of our operations.

We are looking for motivated individuals with at least 2 years of professional cooking experience in a similar role.

**Here’s what we get**

Someone who has:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred
- Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow cooking directions
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Must be organized and self-motivated
- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials
- Certified in Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)

Responsibilities for Line Cook
- Prepare ingredients then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at work station and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
- Set up and clean station according to restaurant protocol
- Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves
- Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
- Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the sous chef or chef

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner
- Monitor food inventory and communicate any shortages or discrepancies
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow proper food handling procedures

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar role
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time
- Food handler's certification is preferred, but not required

**Job Types**: Part-time, Full-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
