Summary:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, environmental science, or related field- 1+ years of post-graduate GIS experience- Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS 10.x Suite or ArcGIS Pro Suite for map creation, spatial data analysis, and data management- Experience sourcing and working with data and imagery from a range of public sources- Ability and willingness to work independently or as part of a team- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills- A flexible working style, self motivation, and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedule to meet project commitments- Capacity to thrive in fast-paced work situations- Conscientiousness concerning the accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of results- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills- Legal authorization to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship from Barr Ltd., now or in the future.- Possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in GIS, geography, or related field- 2+ years of post-graduate GIS experience- Experience in consulting- Experience with AEPA flood studies- One or more years of relevant experience working with Esri’s ArcGIS Pro software-
- Experience with GPS data collection and processing- Experience working with Esri’s ArcGIS Online- Experience with ArcSDE Enterprise Geodatabases Scripting/programming skills (JavaScript, Python, etc.)- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, gINT

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Calgary, Alberta, office.

NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain, steep slopes, and dense vegetation. Job assignments may also involve work on construction and industrial sites with limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.
