Nipigon District Memorial Hospital is a 15-bed acute care facility and a 21-bed Long Term Care Home committed
to delivering health care in a manner that is consistent with our philosophy that “_patients, residents and their _
- families are at the centre of everything we do”_. Applicants are required to demonstrate knowledge,
understanding, and commitment to this philosophy of care.

Reporting to the President and CEO, as the Chief Nursing Executive/LTC Administrator you are responsible for
ensuring a culture of safety for staff, residents and patients, effective systems and processes, and ensuring
compliance with Ministry, legislative, and corporate expectations. With a dual focus at all times, you will lead and
support a full range of services from Acute Care, Emergency Department, Long Term Care, Chronic Care and the
Assisted Living Program, as well as serve as a key clinical resource and collaborator with the Nipigon District
Family Health Team and our community partners.

As the patient relations officer, you must fully understand the _Excellent Care for All Act _and the importance of
working with our patients and families on improvements. As a highly motivated leader, you will have:

- A Master’s Degree in Nursing;
- A minimum of 10 years of clinical practice combined with a minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership

experience;
- Demonstrated current clinical knowledge of current Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2021, Public

Hospitals Act (ECFAA Regulation 965), Nursing Professional Practices, Ontario College of Nurses Standards of
Practice, and RNAO best practice guidelines, and other legislation and collective agreements as required;
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety for patients, residents and staff;
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills;
- Successfully completed or be enrolled in a program in long-term care home administration or management;
- Knowledge of northern rural health issues and outbreak/pandemic management;
- Proven skills in self-directed work and collaboration; and
- A proven business acumen.

The Chief Nursing Executive/LTC Administrator is accountable for fostering environments of care and service
excellence and best practice for health care professionals while maintaining operational efficiency and responding
to clinical and service demands.
