Ontario Soccer develops and delivers exceptional and sustainable programs and services throughout
Ontario with the mission of providing leadership and support for the advancement of soccer in
collaboration and cooperation with our member District Associations, partners and other
stakeholders. Ontario Soccer owns and operates the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan,
Ontario as well operating the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL); the province’s premier
standards-based youth development program, as well as “Team Ontario”, Ontario Soccer’s provincial
Xcel program. Ontario Soccer proudly supports Canada Soccer’s National Teams, the Canadian
Premier League and Toronto FC.

The overall objective of Ontario Soccer as a hub for Coach, Match Official and Player Development is
to be innovators and leaders in sport and to assist with the equitable development of soccer as a
healthy lifestyle choice, provide a talented pathway for participants to excel and encourage inclusive
community involvement at all levels.

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, OPDL & Club Development, this internship position will assist with the
management of the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) and the implementation of Canada
Soccer’s Club Licensing program in Ontario. This position will specifically be involved with the
administration of the OPDL in the areas of compliance and discipline, data analysis, event
management and competition management. There will also be involvement with the support and
administration of the Club Licensing program.**
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities: **

Communication with OPDL License Holders as required

Work with Communications Staff to produce OPDL content for Ontario Soccer Newsletter
and Website

Data entry and management of OPDL Surveys and Assessments

Create reports and presentations for OPDL Management Staff

Support the review and implementation of OPDL Rules & Regulations

Development and maintenance of applicable sections on the Ontario Soccer & OPDL
websites

Planning and preparation of OPDL meetings and education sessions

Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders both internal and external

Work with Club Assessors on the assessment of organizations using the provided tools

Liaising with OPDL Staff on matters relating to OPDL Management

Filing and maintaining compliance reports

Assisting with administration of league discipline

Additional duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
Any Canada Soccer, or foreign coaching certification an asset but not required

**Experience**:
An understanding of Ontario Soccer programming and broader landscape
Working knowledge of the OPDL and Club Licensing programs an asset
Currently completing post-secondary education in sports administration.

**Skills and Competencies**:
Great initiative and relationship building skills
Strong written and oral communication skills

Highly detail oriented with analytical strengths and effective time management skills
A demonstrated proficiency in the use of common technology and computer platforms (i.e.

Microsoft Office Suite)
Self-starter with the ability to work alone and as part of a team

**Must be receiving a course credit for completing the internship**
