Position Summary
Manager, Centre for Education
The Centre for Education advances health professional education at North York General Hospital through leading, supporting, fostering and enhancing; (1) the learner and teacher experience; (2) education scholarship; and (3) partnerships related to education. The Centre supports approximately 2000 learners annually. The Manager leads operations and supports the mandate for the Centre; including managing projects related to education both within the Centre and broader hospital context.
On a practical level, you will

Manage/support the learner experience at NYGH including; Learner onboarding; Supporting positive learning environments; Managing evaluation of learner experience; Managing Centre for Education staff and budget

Manage education projects (development, implementation, evaluation and oversight)

Manage/support the teacher experience at NYGH (staff & physicians)

Manage academic partnerships related to education

Support interprofessional education (IPE) initiatives at NYGH (for learners, staff and physicians)

Foster & support education scholarship

**Qualifications**:
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the Health Professions or Education; with a focus on Education required

Regulated Health Professional required

Experience within an academic institution or academic hospital as a teacher, educator or administrator

Minimum three to five years of experience within healthcare or the academic sector

Minimum three to five years of teaching experience

Interprofessional education, practice, and facilitation skills

Visionary approach, with superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Highly developed project management skills, with experience in planning, coordinating, managing and evaluating large-scale projects

Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to influence others in a tactful and diplomatic manner

Ability to develop and foster partnerships and collaborative structures to enhance education within and external to NYGH

Ability to foster creative problem-solving solutions

Ability to foster, participate and lead scholarly activities (teaching and/or research) related to education
What We Offer
Working at NYGH means working with a dynamic team of fellow healthcare providers, staff, and volunteers in one of Canada’s leading hospitals. This is a Full-time regular position with 8-hour shift, Day shifts in the Centre for Education Department. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package which may include benefits, pension, vacation pay, or pay in lieu of benefits, when applicable.
