We are currently seeking a **Weld Fixture Fabricator **to join our Saskatoon Manufacturing Plant.

Weld Fixture Fabricators are hardworking, positive, and eager team members that work within a team to construct, alter, and repair weld jigs and fixtures as well as work on other various projects while incorporating lean manufacturing principles.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations including those regarding the usage of PPE, Emergency Plans and EH&S Policy.
- To identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions by completing observation cards.
- To monitor for and alert their Team Leader or Supervisor of any abnormalities from the standards in their area. This includes abnormalities in standard processes, standard machine operation, product quality, and logistics management.
- To understand and complete the work content of their assigned workstations within the cycle time and quality standards of the workstation.
- Completes all CILR activities when required, identifies deficiencies in the cleaning cycle and provides suitable suggestions to counteract sources of contamination using CILR.
- To use the defined method of data collection and record keeping for the area so that information can be compiled and used by the company.
- As the need arises, to operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including forklift trucks, hoists, tractors, or any other form of handling material.
- Construct, alter and repair a variety of special tools and templates, fixtures, and weld jigs.
- Perform machining of parts for more intricate work and other operations for higher grade Fabricators.
- Check tooling made or modified by outside subcontractors to insure it meets quality specifications.
- Perform machine operations requiring a variety of regular and exacting set ups to maintain close tolerances
- Bench work involving filing, grinding, assembling, and adjusting to obtain satisfactory operations.
- Perform welding requiring skill and knowledge of fabricating practices when the need arises.
- Interpreting and using complex drawings and blueprints.
- Responsible for cost reductions as applicable to the area.
- Machine or modify replacement parts as the need arises.
- Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties.
- Ensure all products meet the quality guidelines and follow all quality standards, procedures and guidelines in place and be active in improving product quality.
- To be involved in the root cause analysis of S EWO, EWO, HERCA, and equipment problems.
- Grade 12 or GED Equivalency.
- Minimum of three years' experience in welding.
- Minimum of three years applied trades training, mechanical, fabrication or equivalent work experience using shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of adjustable.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, including welding diagrams and symbols.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Able to perform the physical aspect of the job which is: Light physical effort equivalent to occasionally handling or moving light weight to lay out work, fit and assemble parts, and operate machine. Some moderate physical effort to tear down and re-assemble machines.
- Experience in various CAD packages and blueprints for designing jigs.
- Welding Certification or equivalent combination of education & work experience.
- CWB certificate will be considered an asset.
- Experience in the performance of mig welding in building, repairing, fabricating or metal fixtures, equipment, pipe, tools and metal structures.
- Able to work with mínimal direction.
