- Job SummaryReporting to the Scholarship Officers in Student Awards and Financial Aid, the Scholarship Assistant assists with aspects of various In-Course and entrance scholarship competitions; advises students, staff and faculty on policies and procedures; verifies and/or calculates GPA, confirms other eligibility requirements for UVic undergraduate scholarships; enters scholarships and awards into banner including payment detail; secretary of the Senate Committee on Awards (SCA) duties include; creating monthly agendas, creating memos to Senate, communicating with donor relations regarding terms of reference for new and revised scholarships/awards; and, other duties as required.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires a minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in a similar position. Preferably in a post-secondary or institutional environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Related work experience should include:

- Experience with computerized Student Information Systems and database programs
- Experience with inputting and manipulating complex data and handling detailed information with accuracy.
- Experience with creating documents for and recording meetings in a committee setting.

- Tact and diplomacy regarding sensitive and/or confidential matters
- Experience in maintaining confidential and sensitive information and follow FOIPPA guidelines
- Ability to handle detailed information, accurate mathematical calculations, and enter data with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage time and tasks with attention to detail.

**Assets**:

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Banner Student System; Banner Extender; Fast Financial; Cascade web maintenance; Adobe Pro
- Experience with UVic information systems
- Knowledge of the post-secondary organization, roles, policies and systems of central and academic units of the University

**Experience: Office or business administration**
