**Starting Salary**:$47,540 - $54,190, per year based on experience. Salary Range Max $61,810 [2023 Rates]

**The Role**

The Community Wellness program provides client services to those experiencing or at risk of family violence. Those services include, referrals, advocacy, peer support and case management. The goal is to address and respond to existing and emerging healing and wellness concerns. The Community Wellness Coordinator (CWC) provides participant based activities to address community health concerns and prevention and create awareness. CWC will also connect and share information with health and social service agencies.

**Duties include, but are not limited to**:
This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Community Wellbeing.

In carrying out the following duties, it is expected that the Community Wellness Coordinator will:

- Ensure that Community Wellness Worker program is delivered in the spirit and philosophy of the Métis Nation of Ontario’s Statement of Prime Purpose
- Facilitate client services such as home visiting, service support assessments, referrals, developing a wellness plan, and attend consultations with client.
- Coordinate traditional based activities which involve the specific use or development of traditional Métis knowledge, practices, teachings or services to achieve the objectives of the activity or event.
- Provide education/informing/learning through organized, facilitated or coordinated activities. Participant based activities are group rather than individual activities that are open to a targeted group of people within the community or the community at large.
- Provide education/information related to health and well-being and activities to reduce isolation.
- Determining courses of action for client-driven needs.
- Record client services in the Online Health and Access Tracking System (OHATS).
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, and adhere to privacy legislation
- Perform Administrative duties, and other duties as instructed by the Supervisor
- Financial reporting specific to your program site and budget
- Reflect Métis cultural approaches as a part of the activities and services
- Participate in on-going professional development activities, as time and financial resources permit
- Attend training and meetings outside Métis Nation of Ontario working hours
- Fulfill all other responsibilities as determined by management of Community Wellbeing Branch
- All duties related to client case management
- Providing participant base activities
- Networking with community agencies

**Qualifications**
- Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold rights and culture
- Completed Post-Secondary education in the Social Services field is required
- 2 years’ experience working in the social services field, is preferred
- Mandatory qualifications:_
- Experience and knowledge of Indigenous issues, specifically as it relates to Métis peoples is an asset
- Bilingual an asset.
- Successful completion and maintenance of a Police Security Check for Vulnerable Persons
- Willingness and ability to travel, at times extended stays in location other than place of residence
- Strong working knowledge of MNO programs and services;
- Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision;
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrate assertiveness, self-starter and being self-motivated;
- Knowledge of the Métis Nation of Ontario governance, programs and services;
- Effective communication and time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deliverables within deadlines;
- Successful completion and maintenance of a Police Security Check for Vulnerable Persons;
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain;
- Ability to work extended hours or on weekends as required;
- Willingness and ability to travel, at times extended stays in location other than place of residence;
- Ability to lift 11.5 kg when required
