The Finance and Administration Division provides the accounting and financial support to a large department made up of various divisions. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, Financial Analysts are responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of sound financial systems for the Public Works Department.

**As the** **_Financial Analyst,_** **you will**:

- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental cash flow management strategies.
- Participate in the departmental year-end and budgetary processes.
- Coordinate and/or participate in the development of financial reporting systems for the Department.
- Manage staff to ensure financial information is provided in a timely fashion and recorded in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial processes designed to improve internal controls for the Department.
- Coordinate the analysis of payroll information for the Department.
- Provide f¿¿¿¿¿inancial support and guidance to the department.
- Supervise, train, and lead staff.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Professional accounting designation in good standing (CPA).
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Commerce or Business Administration; a major in Finance/Accounting is preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of accounting experience in a related field.
- Experience preparing varied and complex financial reports and statements.
- Experience in the preparation of operating budgets and projections is preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and practices.
- Ability to plan and organize work effectively.
- Ability to resolve complex issues and develop/implement practical solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide direction to others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
