**POSITION TITLE: Custodial / Grounds Coordinator**
**LOCATION**:Camrose, Alberta
**INTENT**:There is a need for Custodial / Grounds Coordinator commencing on as soon as possible. This position is responsible for supervising the Division’s contract and employee caretakers.
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS)**:
- Category 2 - Certificate in related field,
- Category 3 - Diploma in related field,
- Category 4 - Degree in related field,
- Two years of experience in a related field would be an asset,
- Ability to work within a team setting,
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with Division custodians, maintenance workers and school administrators,
- Ability to maintain effective relations with other employees and the public,
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing,
- Possesses a valid Alberta Class Four motor vehicle operator’s license,
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
**GENERAL DUTIES**:
- Supervises and coordinates the work of employed and contracted custodians,
- Develops, directs and evaluates in-service training programs,
- Ensures accurate contractor files are maintained,
- Oversees contracts for: custodians, grass cutting, snow clearing, weed control, and pest control,
- Assist in calculating and updating contractor payments,
- Coordinates playground equipment inspections with Safety Officer,
- Assists with the coordination of new playground installations,
- Ensures that cleaning/grounds equipment is maintained,
- Assists Facilities staff in identifying and correcting health and safety maintenance concerns in the Division,
- Inspects school facilities and related areas,
- Coordinates inventory to ensure supplies and equipment are available to perform custodial work,
- Prepares written reports and maintains records related to the supervision of employed and contracted custodians,
- Assist in developing, interpreting, and enforcing policies related to custodians,
- Ensures work is carried out in accordance with OH&S Act and Regulations and BRSD Facilities Department Health and Safety Policy and Procedure Manual,
- Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
