Raw Materials Purchasing Agent

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable **Raw Materials Purchasing Agent** to join our Materials Department. Reporting to our Materials Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of materials into the plant and support production efforts.

**What you’ll do**:

- Analyze daily exception reports to determine the materials to be ordered.
- Prepare and send RFQ’s to suppliers and evaluate to determine the best decision to suit the business requirements.
- Monitor, cycle count, rectify inventory discrepancies and order bulk tank raw material as required.
- Work closely with the production and receiving teams and production scheduler to ensure all necessary raw materials are available to support production schedules.
- Create and submit purchase orders using Oracle to suppliers and ensure confirmations from supplier.
- Participate in weekly Materials and Scheduling meetings to share and exchange information.
- Review open order report to ensure all purchase orders are received as scheduled.
- Expedite back orders as necessary with suppliers.
- Support year end physical inventory counts.
- Work with suppliers on continuous_ _improvement
- Set up new suppliers as needed in Oracle.
- Cross train with the Packaging Purchase Agent to cover absences and/or vacations.
- Other duties as required.

**What we’re looking for**:

- University Degree or College Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer skills: Microsoft office, Oracle, Centris.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Good interpersonal, team and collaborative skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Effective organization skills.
