Production Planner/ Scheduler

The Production Planner/ Scheduler is responsible for analyzing the planning, coordinating, and organizing of the production schedules for all production lines within the facility. Reports to the Materials Manager.
- As a key stakeholder in the forecasting process, this position will analyze, maintain, and update forecast and promotional plans as provided by the marketing departments
- Translate annual requirements into a Master plan, and subsequent plans for each manufacturing department
- Create internal Forecasts for items at the SKU level
- Identify daily/weekly/monthly production requirements and build production schedules to achieve business objectives
- Communication of production schedules at weekly meeting and when any changes
- Review material availability with Purchasing to ensure raw materials are available as scheduled
- Identify and correct any inefficiencies within the scheduling process while ensuring schedules aim to minimize down-time, set-up, and waste
- Maintain inventory levels as targeted
- Review daily production reports, identify, and troubleshoot problems; redevelop schedules as necessary
- Develop use of Oracle scheduling system
- Identify production constraints and schedule accordingly
- Facilitate a smooth flow of materials in & out of the plant
- Measure performance against plans
- Participate on continuous improvement projects as needed
- Provide support/backup within dept. (Cross training of Blueridge ordering, MRP report review, work order creation, re-work tickets etc.)
- Assist with Cycle Counts as needed
- Other duties as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University or College diploma in Supply Chain Management / Operations Management, APICS/CPIM
- Minimum of 3-5 years of recent experience in production planning / scheduling within a batch production manufacturing environment
- Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills in both Oral and Written formats. Ability to work in a collaborative and professional manner across various departments
- Competent with MRP/ERP systems. Background with Oracle scheduling an asset
- Lean operations training an asset
