**The Job**:
Are you our next Career and Life Coach? Reporting to the Beyond Jobs Program Manager, this role will work with clients (i.e. women with barriers to employment, specifically regarding childcare) to provide career advice and life coaching to ensure each client is equipped to succeed at life and at work. The position works closely with Childcare [JA2]and Youth Specialist to secure appropriate childcare for each client and support for youth (recreation, tutoring, etc. as required).

This role provides 1:1 coaching to all clients of the Beyond Jobs Program and works with each client to create an individualized development plan in order for client and family to meet career and life goals. Refers clients to community resources as appropriate, and therefore has extensive relationships in the community. Works closely with the Childcare/Youth Resource Specialist to ensure children have the support and resources required.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Completing intake interviews and needs assessments to determine fit with program, career and life goals.
- Developing plans outlining outcome-focused support, including: career preparation, development and advancement; as well as wrap around supports including childcare, education (including ESL), transportation, housing, financial literacy, family relationships.
- Identifying barriers to employment and provide coaching and/or workshops on job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews.
- Researching labour market information regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information such as in demand careers.
- Providing clients already working with information, support and strategies for maintaining a job or moving to another role within an organization.
- Providing life coaching through the use of powerful, reflective and direct questions in order for clients to gain clarity, increase their self-awareness, self-identify their strengths, barriers to self-sufficiency, and goals in life and in work.
- Assisting clients in developing their continuous improvement action plan that identifies goals, resources, action steps and target dates.
- Providing ongoing support to clients to ensure progress of their action plan, and holding clients accountable to their goals.
- Assisting clients with navigation of relevant government supports.[JA3]

**What you bring to the table**:

- Degree, diploma or graduate certificate in: Coaching, Career Development, Education, Adult Education, Human Resources, Human Services, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Career Counselling
- Coaching Certification or demonstrated experience in life coaching, career or personal counselling.
- Financial literacy/budget experience an asset.
- Knowledge and experience navigating community resources an asset.
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders based on respect, integrity and trust.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, demonstrated coaching and team building skills.
- A high level of emotional intelligence, including resilience, influencing skills and effective interactions that build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to motivate individuals, encourage independence and self-confidence, and facilitate adjustment to change
- Ability to research and analyze complex situations and make recommendations.
