Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting, the Manager, Financial Reporting will primarily be responsible for all aspects of the consolidated financial reporting and provide critical financial accounting support to Bird’s various entities.

This position can be based at any of our Bird offices across Canada, including Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Mississauga.

What You Will Be Working On- Consolidation and preparation of external financial statements in accordance with IFRS, and supporting the preparation of Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) for Bird Construction Inc.- Manage the timely submission of all documents to SEDAR.- Prepare quarterly analysis of consolidated financial results and updates for the Executive team and Board of Directors.- Support the external auditor process for the annual financial statements and notes.- Provide accounting analysis to support complex transactions, including Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, from a financial accounting perspective.- Prepare quarterly and annual unaudited statutory financial statements for subsidiary entities, as required.- Research and analyze changes to IFRS and oversee the adoption of new standards.- Support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team with Bird’s annual Business Plan process and the execution of strategic initiatives.- Financial accounting for several consolidated entities and joint arrangements.- Support the Director of Financial Reporting, VP Corporate Finance, VP Corporate Controller and other executives on various treasury, tax and corporate accounting projects.

What We Are Looking For- University degree or college diploma in accounting / business administration.- CPA, CA designation or equivalent, with strong technical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)- 5+ years of progressive Canadian corporate consolidation and financial reporting experience- Public company accounting experience is an asset- Comfortable working in a constantly evolving, collaborative environment in a growing company- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe complex accounting concepts to non-finance audiences in a clear and concise manner- Self-motivated and proactive with respect to managing deliverables with fixed timelines- Accuracy and strong attention to detail- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership team- High-level of proficiency in Excel, and comfort working with Word and PowerPoint also required- Previous experience with Viewpoint, Workiva, Prophix and other financial consolidation software is an asset
