Clinical Nursing Supervisor

**Who is a Clinical Nursing Supervisor?**
Reporting to the Care and Service Manager, the Clinical Nursing Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of RN’s and RPN’s who are caring for clients within the community. The Clinical Nursing Supervisor will have the knowledge to assess, implement and evaluate a wide range of clinical care interventions to ensure the delivery of safe, quality, and ethical care.
**We are looking for 2 Clinical Supervisors, one will be based in our Barrie office and the other one will be in the community in Orillia and Surrounding Areas.**
Training takes several weeks 4-6weeks
Hours of work are generally Mon to Fri 830-430 with an on call rotation (one week coverage which rotates every 8-9wks)
- Supervisors will work some evenings if patient trainings are needed-(very rare but may have to flex schedule at times)
- Office Supervisor will work from the Coordination Branch office (which is currently Barrie however we never know if we relocate
- down the road)
- Community Supervisor is for the Orillia and surrounding areas
**What you will be doing**:
- Supervise and support PSWs to ensure practices comply with all legislated standards of practice as well as company policies and procedures.
- Respond to and advise/resolve concerns from community staff, patients/families, and other team members.
- Provide ongoing leadership through regular huddles, face to face meetings and one-on-ones.
- Initiate patient safety incident investigations and documents to ensure timelines and action plans are met.
- Work collaboratively with nursing team members to support clinical documentation and submission requirements according to specific funder reporting guidelines.
- Engage patients in problem solving using a collaborative approach, offering health teaching, building rapport and trust to identify patient health care needs, strengths, capacities, and goals.
- Engage staff in problem solving, offering education, coaching, and mentoring in resolution of problems.
- Maintain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, efficient, effective service in all areas of practice by keeping abreast of changes in practice setting that affect scope of practice.
**Experience you bring**:
- Current RN or RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and entitled to practice without restrictions
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisor role
- Comprehensive patient health assessment skills are required
- Possess an understanding of the principles of community nursing practice
- Proven experience leading and managing a team
- Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and practice guidelines is required
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and teaching skills
- Commitment to professional development in clinical practice that is relevant to home health care
- Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS)
- C.N.A Certification as a Community Health Nurse is considered an asset
