**Position Summary**:
The Superintendent of Education - Programs and Services is responsible for leading, directing, managing and supporting the programs and services for STC Education Corp. The Superintendent of Programs and Services provides a safe, positive learning environment for students in order to maximize student success.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership that fosters high commitment to the mission and strategic direction of STC Education Corp.
- Provide leadership in the development, implementation and facilitation of the strategic plan
- Direct the overall development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of all curriculum and instructional programs
- Develops and implements a department plan that supports the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of programs and services department.
- Develop effective and efficient processes for conducting the activities of STC Education Corp
- Ensure the development of relevant policies and procedures for the department
- Monitor, report and provide advice to the Director of Education on all matter related to programs and services.
- Attend principal meetings to engage them in issues surrounding trends and changes in the program and services
- Submit Board and other reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Prepare annual department budget and ensure financial resources are expended in accordance with the approved budget
- investigate and resolve concerns regarding programming and/or curriculum
- Keep informed of current trends and practices in education
- Provide instructional leadership in the supervision of K-12 curriculum and instruction
- Provide leadership in tracking student engagement, achievement and graduation
- Assist schools with teacher retentions and recruitment strategies
- Assist the Director of Education in being informed of community needs and issues.
- Responsible for staff supervision including hiring, performance management, training, coaching and discipline, compensation management and mentoring.
- Facilitate professional performance appraisals and improvement plans
- Develops strong teams to carry out the Education strategies by recruiting, selecting, training and developing new members as required; providing coaching, mentoring and developing of existing professions with the project; communicating performance and client expectations and standards and ensuring applicable policies, procedures and best practices are adhered to; delegating and monitoring work of team members; establishing performance goals; evaluating employee performance to ensure goals are met and providing timely feedback, assessment of work performance and discipline if required; creating and following up with employees work and developmental plans; ensuring succession plans for self and employees to deliver on project strategies and objectives; leading the development and implementation of processes and best practices within the scope of the project.
- Perform other related duties as defined and assigned by the reporting Director or designate on an as and when required basis.

***Working Environment**:

- Standard office environment; regular travel (as required)
- Given the traditional practices of the Dakota, Cree, and Saulteaux cultures, exposure to wood smoke and the burning of sacred medicines, including tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar, may occur within the work setting.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends.

**Physical Demands**:

- Freedom of movement; Keyboarding (>2 hrs at a time); ability to take breaks as necessary; Driving and sensory demands
