**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Tariff Services Specialist is responsible for multiple strategic business and technical functions relating to providing fair and non-discriminatory access to the SaskPower transmission system, managing the generator interconnection process, and developing new services to meet evolving customer needs.
As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible to act as a central point of contact in the management and administration of strategic and operational functions, providing expert advice and direction that aligns with departmental and corporate goals and objectives.
The Tariff Services Specialist is expected to work with mínimal supervision. As such, an excellent working relationship with all parties must be maintained to ensure the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the organization. The authority of and supervision required for this position varies based upon the project and level of experience of the incumbent.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Plan, research, develop, evaluate and implement processes, policies and procedures utilized for the development of strategies and business initiatives that address the organization’s requirements
- Lead in the administration of the SaskPower transmission service, validation and coordination of study agreements and finances.
- Identify new business solutions and operational efficiencies, while providing recommendations which have a significant impact on SaskPower’s business operations and strategies
- Lead and/or participate in cross-functional projects to provide functional expertise for corporate and departmental strategic planning initiatives
- Represent the department and prepare and present material to internal and external audiences as required
- Maintain knowledge of industry developments and best practices related to area of specialization and adapt them to SaskPower’s operational environment
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams and/or assigned staff as required
- Propose recommendations for improvements for transmission service and generator interconnection requests, and SaskPower Business Practices and Open Access Transmission Tariff activities.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Law or other technical discipline, Diploma/Certificate in a related field, or equivalent;
- Five (5) years of related experience in transmission, system operations, business systems or related power supply experience, as well as experience in contract administration, including interpretation of contract terms and negotiations of contract amendments with counterparties
- Ability to understand the Day-to-Day open access transmission tariff (OATT) related functions to be able to advise on the Strategic & Business-Related functions.
- Strong strategic and business relationship management
- Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
- Results oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
- Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work and manage in a changing environment
- Excellent facilitation, project management and decision-making skills
- Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
- Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
- Must have a continuing record of professional development
