**PURPOSE**

The Banquet Captain assists with the planning, organization, and execution of Banquet and Event functions, and as required, the day-to-day Food & Beverage operations. Works closely with the Banquet Manager and F&B Leadership team with coordinating operations to achieve and maximize profitability, guest satisfaction, and efficiency while maintaining the highest levels of service and quality standards in the Banquet/Events department, as well as the Cinnamon Bear Bar, Cinnamon Bear Grille, and In-Room Dining. The Banquet Captain must be an organized individual with natural leadership abilities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Previous experience in Hotel operations and/or Food & Beverage required
- Previous Banqueting, Catering, and/or Events experience an asset
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management an asset
- Excellent command of the English language - written and verbal (other languages an asset)
- Ability to guide, direct, and prioritize workload in a potentially stressful environment
- Passion for customer service and commitment to exceeding guest expectations
- Basic knowledge of Food & Beverage preparation, service standards, and guest relations etiquette
- An excellent trainer, comfortable with coaching and mentoring
- Ability to promote the brand and act as destination and resort ambassador
- Experience with Point-of-Sales systems an asset (Agilysys, Micros)
- Ability to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the demands of a busy resort hotel operation
- Highly energetic, responsible and reliable, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
- Appreciation for diverse multicultural environment both with staff and clientele
- Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, carry/lift/balance heavy items/trays
- Serving-It-Right (BC) Certification required
- First Aid Certification an asset
