Parts and Service Assistant

**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a Parts and Service Assistant to join our team. The Parts and Service Assistant will assist both the parts and service departments with various tasks to ensure smooth operations.
**Duties**:
- Will assist the Parts Manager and Service Writer
- Assist filling parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels
- Monitoring the current parts inventory and maintaining inventory software
- Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labeling them
- Helping customers find and purchase the correct parts
- Interact with customers, listen to their questions and concerns and provide timely responses
- Assist with scheduling appointments, taking orders, monitoring service progress, and processing payments
- Assist in managing complaints, returns and resolving customer grievances
- Record customer details and transactions
- When required, will travel to pickup or return parts, and deliver parts to mechanics on remote jobs
- All other duties as indicated by the Shop Manager
**Qualifications**:
- Valid drivers license
- Sales and customer service skills if working with the general public
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mathematical skills to help manage the inventory, pricing and estimates
- Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues
- Previous mechanic or car sales experience (an asset)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes loud environment
- Product knowledge to ensure they identify parts correctly and recommend the needed parts (an asset)

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Experience**:
- parts management: 1 year (preferred)
