**Account Manager**
**Full Time, Permanent**
- *This can be a remote position depending on the location of the incumbent_

Reporting to the Team Lead of Client Services, the Account Manager will oversee operations between Penfield agents and assigned clients, promoting Penfield successes to clients, and building relationships with operational stakeholders in the client’s organization while providing support to the

Penfield Business Development team. You will also monitor Penfield’s performance and trends and identify opportunities for upselling to Penfield sales.

**Responsibilities include**:
Knowledge-Building:

- Keep abreast of trends/challenges in US healthcare cost containment (feedback from Penfield negotiators as well as other market experts)
- Act as SME to clients on the topic of US healthcare cost containment

Sales Support:

- Provide support to Penfield Business Development through reports and other written materials, as well as on calls with clients and prospects, where appropriate
- Where appropriate, attend on-site client meetings to support the Penfield Business Development team and to build rapport with client contacts/stakeholders

Operational Monitoring:

- Address escalated client concerns or complaints
- Monitor high-importance/priority cases and provide client stakeholders with regular updates
- Provide feedback to clients on potential claims submissions (based on negotiator feedback) and gain buy-in from clients to submit claims to Penfield for discounting
- Consult with Penfield negotiators on cost containment strategy and gain buy-in from client stakeholders

Client Reporting & Analysis:

- Provide regular performance reports to clients, as well as ad-hoc requests (custom reports, etc.)
- Where appropriate, provide analysis to highlight successes, or provide context and explanation for challenges (e.g. difficult providers, circumstances that impede discounting potential, etc.)

Client Implementation:

- Coordinate and/or attend implementation meetings/calls with new clients
- Ensure that client stakeholders receive clear information on relevant processes

**Requirements include**:

- Post-Secondary Education
- Account Management Experience
- In-depth knowledge of US healthcare system and cost containment would be a strong asset
- Well-developed customer service skills (fact-finding, verbal and written communications, empathy, prioritization)
- Capacity to adapt to rapidly changing/emergent situations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong work ethic, with an ability to manage confidential data
- Experience using Salesforce is considered an asset
- Advanced MS Excel skills
