Afterhours Dispatcher

International Machine Transport (IMT) is an asset-based carrier with terminals in Abbotsford, Montreal and Dallas TX. As our fleet continues to grow, we are adding an After-Hours Dispatcher to our existing dispatch team. IMT specializes in transporting high-value assets including aircraft engines (and components), helicopters, spacecraft components and other sensitive cargo.

The After-Hours Dispatcher will be responsible for keeping customers updated on critical shipments, dealing with driver problems at load/offload locations, customs clearance issues and any other duties as delegated by the dispatch team.

**Shift**

Must be able to work Wednesday to Sunday, 3pm to 11pm on weekdays and 8am-5pm on weekends. Shift start and ends times could change depending on the projects happening that week. This position is full-time and permanent.

**Minimum Requirements**
- 5 years experience in a dispatch role with a flat deck carrier
- Basic knowledge of MS Office programs
- Experience with cross-border shipments and customs procedures
- Advanced knowledge of driver HOS rules and E-Logs
- Working knowledge of oversized regulations
- Demonstrated problem solving skills in a commercial dispatch role
- Ability to keep track of important details while providing the highest levels of customer service
- A demonstrated ability to work with a small to medium fleet of drivers, manage high-stress situations and maintain a positive driver rapport.

**Ideal Qualifications (will be given priority in hiring process)**
- Previous class 1 driving experience - preferably with a flat deck carrier
- Previous experience as an owner operator
- Previous experience working in the aerospace industry - as a driver or other capacity
- Experience using Truck Mate or similar dispatching software
- Ability to order oversized permits
