686 Contracting is a small, yet growing company providing oil and gas maintenance services to our clients in North East BC.

686 Contracting is looking for a part time HSE coordinator to assist with the implementation and maintenance of our HSE program.

This position will consist of, but is not limited to:

- Coordinating with the field workers to ensure the maintenance and implementation of documentation.
- Ensure that the 686 Contracting Health & Safety Program is maintained and cooperate with any joint health and safety representatives.
- Working with the team to develop and revise policies, procedures, and other required documentation.
- Perform a minimum of one (1) random Truck STOP Audit per quarter.
- Attending and facilitating monthly safety meetings.
- Provide support and suggestions to the team.
- Conducting investigations into incidents and near misses and present corrective measures to the team.
- Review with workers applicable safety rules and policies, Safe Work Practices, Safe Work Procedures, and the Emergency Response Plan.
- Ensure hazards are identified and removed where possible.
- Ensure Corrective Action Logs are posted, distributed, and discussed with appropriate employees.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the measures taken to comply with the Ergonomics (MSI) requirements and ensure they are reviewed at least annually. When monitoring identifies deficiencies, they must be corrected without undue delay.
- Annually review the First Aid Site / Hazard Assessment and when a significant change affecting the assessment occurs.
- Obtain and review driver abstracts for all drivers of company-owned vehicles.
- Ensure all workers are given adequate instruction in the fire prevention and emergency evacuation procedures applicable to their job. Ensure workers designated to provide rescue or evacuation services are adequately trained.
- Ensure contractors, subcontractors, employees, and visitors know 686 Contracting safety expectations through postings, discussions, and meeting minutes.
