**Job Title**:QA Technician**

**Location**:Brampton, ON (On-Site)**

**Shift: Afternoons (2:00pm - 10:30pm)**

**Job Summary**: The Quality Assurance Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring product quality and supporting cross-functional teams within the production environment. They are responsible for monitoring and maintaining quality standards throughout various production processes, conducting inspections, implementing quality control procedures, and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives.

**Responsibilities**:
**Team Collaboration**:

- Actively participate in team meetings to contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide training on Method Sheets, Procedures, Instructions, In-Process Audits, and Inspections to enhance team capabilities.

**Quality Control**:

- Collaborate with production teams to develop check sheets, inspection and test plans, and method sheets.
- Resolve daily quality issues on the shop floor and conduct floor inspection audits to ensure compliance with quality plans.
- Conduct dimensional inspections and provide production approval for first-offs.
- Update all relevant quality documentation, including first-off and in-process sheets.
- Perform audits to ensure adherence to inspection, design, and assembly requirements.

**Sample Approval**:

- Generate dimensional inspection reports for internal and purchased parts and communicate significant issues for corrective action.
- Issue customer sample approval documentation.
- Process shop orders and ensure proper documentation issuance to the floor.

**Calibration System Management**:

- Manage the calibration system for all manufacturing and fabrication shop gauges.
- Calibrate and verify all manufacturing and fabrication shop gauges per established procedures.

**CMM and Measuring Equipment**:

- Develop CMM programs and provide operational personnel training.
- Operate CMM and other measuring equipment to support production needs.

**Nonconforming Products**:

- Maintain the Nonconforming Product program and generate NCR/CAR documentation.
- Disposition nonconforming products and update the MRB/NCR log as required.

**Drawing Control**:

- Maintain drawing control for machining and assembly, ensuring accurate distribution to the floor.

**Training**:

- Train production staff and other personnel on procedures and quality concepts.
- Assist in training on work instructions, method sheets, and quality tools.

**Receiving Inspection**:

- Conduct receiving inspection on raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Conduct testing of products requiring validation.

**Customer Interaction**:

- Liaise with customers on quality issues, audits, and visits as required.
- Review RMA products for corrective action and disposition.

**Internal Auditing**:

- Serve as an internal auditor for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

**Project Support**:

- Provide support for production and organizational goals as directed.

**Safety Equipment Requirement**: The use of appropriate safety equipment as described in the Victaulic Health and Safety Manual is mandatory.

**Education and Skill Requirements**:

- Minimum Grade 12 education preferred.
- CQT or CQE accreditation preferred, or equivalent experience and/or education.
- Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and CMM.
- Flexibility to train on CMM operation and programming.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.

**Salary**: $30 - 35/hr
