As part of the Live-In Treatment team, reporting to the Manager of Live-In Treatment, the Live-In Treatment Worker provides therapeutic care, stabilization, and the assessment and treatment for children and youth in care.

This position uses an interdisciplinary collaborative approach in working with children, youth, and families with complex mental health needs. ROCK’s Live-In Treatment workers are pivotal in implementing client driven treatment. They specialize in the delivery of therapeutic programs, and support youth to reach treatment milestones through planned experiences and the utilization of daily life events to facilitate positive change. Team members have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills in supporting clients with complex mental health needs through various training opportunities provided by ROCK.

This position would require shift work in accordance with program need, and occasionally providing transportation (driving) for clients.

Please note that this is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours weekly. Work locations are Oakville/Burlington

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Act as a primary worker/case manager for a designated number of youth, assisting in the establishment, implementation, monitoring, and reporting on client’s progress towards therapeutic goals/plan of care.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the client’s plan of residency within an interdisciplinary team.
- Provide individual and group counselling/support to clients. Provide coaching and support to the youth and families and assist in family therapy, as required.
- Assume an advocacy role for clients through ongoing liaising with the family and other community agencies.
- Plan and implement recreational and therapeutic activities with and for clients.
- Ensure the security of medication, prograM/Food funds, and agency property.
- Within the probationary period, acquire complete knowledge of accepted policies, practices, and procedures and the ability to carry them out.
- Assist in the training and orientation of other staff.
- Complete all administrative tasks in a timely fashion as required, for both client and organizational purposes.
- Communicate significant information and developments to other staff members, both verbally and in writing.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment, acting as a role model and facilitating the client’s physical, emotional, and intellectual growth and development.
- Responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the house. Daily chores may be used as a means for engaging clients and teaching life skills, but the responsibility for ensuring chores are complete belongs to the staff.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the overall program.
- Support the Day Treatment Program and support families in their home, as needed.
- Operationalize client safety through adhering to established policies and guidelines that ensure consistency in the delivery of quality and safe care, and by identifying and reporting any client safety incidents.
- Abide by the specific requirements of Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as any further health and safety responsibilities outlined in the agency’s policy and procedure documents.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**_
Education_**:

- A minimum of a college diploma in Social Services or a related field.
- Current UMAB training certification is an asset.

**_ Skills_**:

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish relationships with clients that demonstrate self-awareness, appropriate professional boundaries, and a therapeutic impact.

**_ Additional Requirements_**:

- Must obtain and maintain a valid CPR/First Aid certification, UMAB certification, and up to date immunization records.
- A valid G driver's license and acceptable current abstract with a minimum of two million dollar liability insurance.
- A current (within three months) criminal reference check with vulnerable sector search.
- Medical statement attesting to one’s physical health to work without restriction and perform UMAB restraints.
- A valid TB skin test is required for this position.
- Available to work flexible hours according to program and/or client needs.
- Access to reliable transportation in alignment with program needs.
- Proficient in the use of technology as required of the position, including working in a virtual environment with MAC OS operating systems experience preferred.
