Assistant Construction Manager

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Prepare and distribute the project labor and equipment allocation schedules, including any required updates, through consultations and discussions with internal stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of work schedules for project estimating as required, prior to proposal submission, which sufficiently illustrates the sequence of work activities and contract time
- Maintain master labor/equipment schedule and identify and record the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled. This includes resource loading / levelling, baselining, look-a-head’s & what-if analyses.
- Consult the appropriate project team members to understand their estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work in relation to manpower and equipment
- Work closely with the Equipment Management team to ensure maintenance requirements are balanced and optimized against project needs - Provide information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of the project schedule and work with Construction/Project Managers to modify schedule as needed
- Expand and update professional knowledge and hone training skills to enhance individual and team efficiency - Understand changes in sequence & paths of construction. Provide input to project managers of priority work streams & timelines necessary to meet project needs & completion dates.
- Effectively communicate the outcome of the schedule update development process by presenting targeted and relevant information in an effective format.
- Facilitate planning execution sessions with construction management & project managers - Work with project leadership to make decisions concerning risk and opportunity management.
- Prepare and present basis of schedule
- Work in the yard/shop to ensure Maxx Equipment is well maintained by field staff. Track who in the field has Maxx equipment
- Maintain a count of Maxx equipment and its location.
- Work with Maintenance Manager to ensure all Maxx equipment have the correct paperwork (CVIP, insurance, registration) and the equipment is maintained and ready for field work

**Skills and Experience**
- 5 - 10 years of experience in a similar role
- Thorough understanding of construction execution strategy
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera (P6) and/or AIMSIO
- Experience developing/maintaining resource loaded schedules (labor & eqpt.)
- Proficient in Excel
- Superior organizational and planning abilities
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and positive attitude is a MUST
