What you’ll do & Who you are

As a UX Researcher at Kijiji, you will collaborate closely with the Product Strategy, Data Science, UX, and other Product teams to improve our understanding and foster better user outcomes. Reporting to the Head of UX, you will conduct both generative (user discovery, customer model development) and evaluative (usability testing, concept evaluation) research. Your role will establish you as a beacon of excellence in Design Thinking and a proponent of Design Sprints across the organization. You will have a hybrid working model.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement insight roadmaps that are aligned with Kijiji's business and UX goals.
- Facilitate Design Thinking workshops, engaging multiple team levels to explore and solve problems while promoting strategic solutions.
- Offer thought leadership to product and strategy teams, enhancing understanding of customer needs, attitudes, and behaviors, and ensuring insights are translated into actionable strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive user discovery, opportunity evaluations, and market analysis to inform value propositions, concept prototyping, and product development.
- Enhance research practices within the team, establishing best practices for rigorous and impactful user research.

Qualifications:

- Four or more years in UX/user research in environments building complex products within online marketplaces or similar sectors.
- Proven expertise in orchestrating engaging workshop experiences that enhance user empathy and drive impactful business results.
- Deep familiarity with the product design process and a collaborative nature that enhances interactions with product and technical teams.
- Work on multiple projects and deliver high-quality results.
- A relentlessly curious mind, eager to understand the interplay between users, their decisions, and their interactions with products.

Desired Experience:

- A degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field.
- Experience with UI/prototyping tools.
- A portfolio demonstrating your expertise in UX research and strategy.
- Bonus: background in eCommerce, marketplaces, or experience designing innovative products from scratch in startup or corporate incubation environments.
