***Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Product Category Manager, the **Product Specialist, Home** will be responsible for executing the assortment plan and New Product Development (NPD) projects for the assigned categories, ensuring effective and efficient delivery on-time and within budget. You will strategically assess the consumer opportunity and own the execution of NPD projects from concept to launch, by working closely with cross-functional partners to develop project timelines, packaging design, formulation, product positioning & messaging, launch support, pricing strategies, and more. The Product Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment that offers an opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing brand. The ultimate Product Specialist is an excellent Product Marketer and Project Manager.
Through day-to-day functions, the** Product Specialist, Home, **contributes to maintaining and strengthening Saje’s culture; proactively engaging in behaviours that align with Saje’s values: Wellness, Growth, Celebration, Greatness and Belonging.
**Responsibilities**:
**_ Product Marketing_**
- Work with Product Category Manager to support creation of product launch files
- Support in defining product positioning and messaging through competitive and market analysis
- Ensure that product launch concepts are linked back to clear, understandable consumer insights with sharply defined unique selling propositions (USPs)
- Work across cross-functional teams to better understand Saje Community Member (CM) unmet needs to leverage in concept development process
**_New Product Development (NPD) Ownership_**
- Own the execution of NPD projects from concept to launch that deliver against the category vision and meet financial goals (e.g.: revenues, profit margin, and category growth)
- Build and manage all timelines associated with product launches ensuring execution on-time and within budget
- Develop and present all Product Concept Briefs to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on direction
- Own the accuracy of all cost sheets. Ensure all costs are accurately inputted into the system
- Organize and track all components of the NPD process: artwork specs, samples, product manuals, etc.
- Owns the product communication flow with cross functional teams, ensuring deliverables and timelines are met.
- Leads cross functional communication on product updates.
**_Support with Product Lifecycle Management_**
- Work with Demand Planning and Supply Planning teams to successfully hit inventory KPIs (e.g., forecast accuracy, SKU productivity, sell-through, etc.) for the assigned categories.
- Implement exit strategies for obsolete SKUs and work with teams on managing inventory position of slow sellers
- Ensure all product documents and systems are accurately updated and managed on a regular cadence (e.g.: Brand Product Marketing Calendar, Quarterly Line Plans, etc.)
**_Support with Product Assortment Planning_**
- Support the Product Category Manager in developing the assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies by analyzing category sales data on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis
- Leverage market research to understand consumer insights, retail and online shopping habits, and the competitive environment in Canada and US
**Applicant Requirements**:
- 4+ year(s) of product development or project management experience in a related field; preferably in the Consumer Packaged Goods, Wellness or Beauty industry
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Omni channel (retail & e-commerce) experience desirable
- Bachelor’s degree required
