**Job Description**:
Job Title: Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Teacher (Assistant)

Reports to: Director and/or Supervisor of Little Dreamers

Job Summary:
To work in collaboration with the Director to provide a clean, safe, educational, fun, quality, inclusive preschool program. To learn and follow the policies and procedures set by Little Dreamers Preschool and all licensing regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

- A valid Early Childhood Education Assistant License or ECE License to Practice
- A current first-aid certificate (Not required but preferred)
- Three (3) letters of reference with current telephone numbers
- A current and satisfactory criminal record check
- A medical health clearance form
- Immunization Record
- Demonstrate knowledge of child development, family dynamics and community resources
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
- Build and maintain strong relations with director, staff, children, parents, and any professional or community members
- Show enthusiasm, creativity, and professionalism
- Time management, organized, flexible, team building and leadership skills

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop, plan and deliver activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, activities should be developmentally appropriate and follow the program philosophy
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
- Assess, observe, and assist children in all areas of development
- Extend children’s learning by responding to their needs and interests
- Support the supervisor and contribute to curriculum planning and helping coordinate field trips
- Support supervisor in completing bi-annual assessment of children's development
- Report progress of children to parents and maintain daily open communication with parents
- Keep accident and suspected abuse records and report any suspect abuse to Director and Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD)
- Maintain confidentiality about children, parents, staff and program dealings.
- Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment. Cleaning the washrooms, tables, dishes, sweeping, and vacuuming the carpets daily. Washing the toys, mopping and cleaning the shelves regularly
- Inspect and replace damaged toys, furniture and materials
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Help supervise practicum students and volunteers in the classroom
- Keep all appropriate records such as attendance
- Keep the centre in accordance with or above licensing regulation standards
- Supervise indoor/outdoor environments to provide safety for the children at all times
- Once you are in the building, and your shift has started you are responsible for all the children (in your care) at the centre; children must always be supervised at all times indoor and outdoor; the endangerment of children’s health and wellbeing is a cause for dismissal
- To follow the direction of and to complete tasks, duties or responsibilities not listed above, that are assigned by the supervisor or director
- IT staff will also have additional day to day duties to care for the littles

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
