What You’ll Do

Job Description Summary

The Intern Portfolio & Credit Risk is responsible for servicing the First Portfolio product and other ad hoc Credit Risk duties. The role will primarily provide Portfolio brokers with the appropriate level of support to manage their premium finance book of business as well as support the generation of overflow business within FIRST Canada’s portfolio. The role requires participation in projects aimed at evolving and growing the Portfolio product. A passion for working with insurance brokers and providing best in class customer service are the keys to being successful in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Where appropriate, support Portfolio brokers with quote creation, loan submission, positive and negative endorsements, bank files, reports
- Request approvals from the Portfolio Administrator when requests fall outside of pre-approved Portfolio terms
- Manage the recovery process for Portfolios
- Issue notices to applicable parties
- Provide support with Portfolio overflow business
- All other support necessary for the administration of a Portfolio and or Credit Risk duties as assigned.
- Participate in projects aimed at further developing and refining the Portfolio offering
- UAT Testing

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Required:

- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, proactive, ‘can do’ attitude
- Accountable for results
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Desire for continuous learning
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)

Training / Education / Experience Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Outlook, Excel and database knowledge
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a finance/ business course
