The Procurement Leader SCM, Development and Property Sourcing will directly contribute to the success of Chartwell by demonstrating the ability to anticipate, organize, plan, and execute on multiple tasks and projects pertaining to New Development Projects and Capital Refresh Initiatives. The Procurement Leader will also be responsible for preparing RFx’s, Reports, Purchase Orders, along with reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing submissions, brand standards, needs assessments, and specifications. Expertise in the procurement of Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment (FF&E), Operational Supplies & Equipment (OS&E), and Maintenance, Repairs, and Operations spend (MRO) is mandatory.

**Key Activities**
- Manage a wide range of planning activities and processes for New Development projects (new build, expansion) and Capital Refresh initiatives and also be a key support in the creation and monitoring of key processes and documentation (SOP) associated with the overall project
- Identify procurement scope, project parameters, and cost-savings/efficiencies opportunities
- Documented needs analysis, specifications validation and communication with key stakeholders on project status as/when required. Supplier management (QBR’s) and stakeholder management to be executed as/when necessary.
- Provide status reports - update, manage and track on continuous basis
- Budgeting - track commitments to approved budget and estimated final costs for each project, ensuring any cost savings/efficiencies are quantified in accordance with the SCM Savings Policy, documented, and provided to the project
- Process FF&E, OS&E, MRO orders, and other orders, and maintain line of sight on delivery timelines, returns, credits, and invoices as necessary. Manage and resolve discrepancies for orders placed.
- Project close deliverable: Produce final procurement project, warranty and maintenance reports
- Lead the development of RFx documentation including scoring criteria, negotiating, award, and implementing
- Category Management - For assigned items, develop sound procurement strategies which best serve the needs of the organization in the areas of quality, cost, and customer experience
- Leverage the scale of Chartwell to drive supplier/SKU rationalization, standardized service and optimal cost models
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders while providing advocacy for the Supply Chain function
- Ensure compliance to Supplier contracts and Brand Standards
- Other duties in relation to Procurement at Chartwell as assigned by the Senior Manager.

**Budget & Financial**
- Must be experienced in building budgets from scratch, managing and tracking budgets and being able to forecast effectively
- Sound financial skills - perform financial analysis, review existing supplier portfolios, and identify and bring forward recommendations for cost-saving/efficiencies opportunities

**Qualifications**

**_Experience:_**
- Minimum 5-10 years of project procurement management experience for new builds, capital, or projects/initiatives
- Category experience is mandatory. Experience in the areas of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) and Operating Supplies & Equipment (OS&E) is an asset.
- Must be able to manage multiple activity in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Must be able to manage all aspects of procurement from project initiation to project close
- Experience in a Senior living, hotel/hospitality environment, healthcare, or facilities management is an asset

**_Education:_**
- University Bachelor’s Degree/College Diploma in Business, or in a related discipline (e.g. architecture, interior design, health/business related field)

**_Skills & Abilities:_**
- Excellent verbal and written communication (Written and oral French is a decided asset)
- Demonstrated interpersonal, time-management, prioritization, and conflict-management skills
- Advanced level Microsoft Office; Google for Business familiarity an asset
- Sound financial analytical skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders without authority and to work in a manner that exemplifies Chartwell’s core values and our vision of _Making People’s Lives Better_
- Accountability and Attention to Detail; proven team player with demonstrated customer service and problem-solving approach in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented Corporate environment
- Travel: ~7 to 10% within GTA; 3% within Canada
